For this project, we demolished and rebuilt an existing garage, introducing a new bedroom with an en-suite above to meet our client’s need for extra space. This solution was the most practical and budget-friendly option for their home.
We managed the entire process, including arranging for plans to be drawn, completing all structural calculations, and applying for planning permission and building regulations. The project was completed within 8 weeks, on time and within budget. In addition to the garage conversion, we laid a brand-new driveway, constructed a small porch, and added a downstairs bathroom, significantly enhancing the functionality and appearance of the property.
A standard single garage can provide approximately 14 square metres of extra space, which is perfect for a home office, playroom, guest bedroom, or even a downstairs shower room and utility. Depending on the layout of your home, it may also offer the potential to extend existing spaces, such as your kitchen or hallway. A double garage, offering around 28 square metres, gives even more flexibility. Part of the space can still function as a garage, with the remainder used as living space or storage.
